Leagues


The league consists of 26 clubs organised into two divisions. The Premier League (formerly Division One), contains 13 clubs, and Division Two, 13 clubs. Every club enters their reserve side into the Isle of Man Football Combination. Division Two previously competed with 14 clubs, but Jurby (Northern Athletic) disbanded prior to the 2009/2010 season. All details below are subject to change season to season.

Premier League (formerly Division One) - The top 13 first teams. The bottom 2 teams are relegated to Division Two at the end of the season.
Division Two - The bottom 13 first teams. The top 2 teams are promoted to the Premier League (formerly Division One) at the end of the season.
Combination One - The reserve teams of all of the Premier League teams. The bottom 2 teams in the Premier League are relegated to Combination Two at the end of the season, no matter what their positions in this league.
Combination Two - The reserve teams of all of the Division Two teams. The top 2 teams in the Division Two are promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season, no matter what their positions in this league.


Cup Competitions


Charity Shield - Premier League champions v Railway Cup winners from the previous season. If the Premier League champions are also the Railway Cup winners, the Premier League runner-up plays the champions. Usually takes place the Sunday before the first league fixtures.
Railway Cup - Top 4 first teams at the half way point in the league season from the Premier League (formerly Division One). Starts in December, final usually played on Boxing Day.
FA Cup - All first teams. 6 teams receive byes in preliminary round. Usually starts in the first weekend in January, final usually played on Easter Saturday.
Woods Cup - All Division Two first teams. 3 teams receive byes in preliminary round. Starts in January, final usually played on Good Friday.
Hospital Cup
- All first teams. 6 teams receive byes in preliminary round. Usually starts the Saturday in April after the last scheduled league match.
Junior Cup - All combi teams. Eligible players must have played less than 10 first team league (does not include cup) games, but 4 or more combi games this season. 6 teams receive byes in preliminary round. Usually starts the Sunday in April after the last scheduled league match.

Paul Henry Gold Cup - Top 4 first teams from Division Two at the end of the season.
